The Language of Flowers
New Print!
This print is a labor of love, featuring my favourite flowers hand-picked from the garden. I carefully researched their meanings and arranged them on the hand-painted pink canvas. Each flower tells a story, making this piece a celebration of floral symbolism and beauty.
The language of flowers, also known as floriography, is a symbolic way of communicating emotions, messages, and sentiments through flowers. This practice became especially popular during the Victorian era (19th century) when open expressions of feelings were often discouraged, so people used flowers to convey messages in a more discreet manner. Books called "flower dictionaries" helped people understand the meanings behind different floral arrangements.
The symbolic meanings of flowers date back to ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and China, where flowers were used in rituals, mythology, and art.
Perfect gift for someone who loves flowers.
